About me

Hi, I’m Elle!

I started Eating Greener as a way to help Americans and others around the world reduce the carbon footprint of their diet.

I have worked for many years as an environmental scientist and environmental consultant, helping businesses reduce the impact of their operations on the environment. In that time have learned that businesses are just people and they need easy practical solutions that they can start to use straight away. Implementing changes slowly and gradually is more sustainable in the long run compared with trying to make huge changes all at once and getting overwhelmed.

I realized that the same is true for all of us in our regular lives. Much of the information available about adopting a Greener lifestyle is very heavy, and can be a little overwhelming for someone who is just starting out on the journey to be environmentally sustainable.

My advice is to start small, but do start. Find something that you can fit into your normal lifestyle quite easily (for example, try meatless Mondays, or swap a high carbon ingredient for something better), and when you have nailed that, add something else. I promise you that is isn’t hard to reduce the environmental impact of your diet.

My website Eating Greener is a collection of resources that I hope regular people will find helpful to make their diets a little more environmentally friendly. The recipes are all triple-tested, and guaranteed delicious.

In the shop you will find links to products I have researched… Most of the links are affiliate links which means that if you click through and make a purchase a small percentage of the sale will go to me (at no extra cost to you!). This along with a few ads is how I fund this site.

A greener way to live

Eating greener is a movement to change the way we eat and think about the food we eat. As humans, we should be eating and buying locally and seasonally and consuming sustainable and nutritious foods. And we should be eating more plants and fruits and whole food ingredients.
